Installation of 7MW wind machine housing in single lift

Project: Installation of two 7MW wind turbine generators in the Netherlands.

Equipment: LR11350-P1800 crawler crane with PowerBoom attachment.

Activity: Weldex used the LR11350 crane to lift the 378 tonnes gross weight nacelle to a 120m installation height. Normally this 18 metres by 8 metres by 8 metres nacelle is divided into separate lifts but, by performing the operation in a single lift, the difficulty of assembly of individual components at great height was avoided and time was saved for the WTG installation crew.
